Six : The Past

Happy June Six! Happy B' Day! Happy Belia's Day!

Whoa, I can't believe it has been one year already since the last time I posted the entry about June Six last year. Time has passed on. Many things have changed in my life. But Some things will never change. Some things, I like to keep them still and the same. And today, I am celebrating the tenth Belia's Day by myself.

It's 10th already, I can't believe it. Every year I remember when this day comes by, and what it means for me. I have always cherish the day by myself, because this day is all about me. Only a few people, close friends of mine, know about this day. But that's about to change, because I decided to post this entry here, about the June Six and where it came from. So people who read this shall know, not that there will be any. ^.^

It all happened nine years ago. The Sixth of June Nineteen Ninety Nine. I was still in my junior high and I was in deep infatuation with a girl known as Belia. I first knew the girl thru my friend a few months back. We were corresponding through letters, and the both of us decided not to share our pictures until the time we met.

Long story short, I was in love with someone whose face I didn't even know. Yeah, what'd u expect? I'm still a kid.

On June Six 1999, We spoke for the very first time, and it really made me happy. That day was the day of happiness floating around the atmosphere. It was then, I decided to remember this date, so that the future me would not forget it.

Time went on, and I moved to town. As fate brought me, I was coincidentally put in the same high school as she was. It was the time of nervousness, when everything was new and weird. But it got weirder as I moved to the second year of my high school. This time fate put us in the same classroom for two years. We were getting closer than we'd ever been, but our relationship was mere platonic. I don't know why, maybe it's because I was a really shy boy.

But as we've grown, we were separated by distance. I moved to Jakarta. At the time, our friendship was still alive. And then I was back to town again. We met occasionally until recently I haven't called her yet. So today, even right now, I am calling her. See, our friendship will never end.

Belia's Day is all about happiness and hope for me. This day sets me straight, so I can always recall the happiness I felt back then, and so I know, that even when things are bitter and lonely from time to time, I still have the hope of something wonderful to happen.

After all, if I don't have this hope of happiness, then I have no reason to live no more.

Be Happy. Today is June Six again!

From Any Time and Place

These previous weeks, I am very much in to singing. Not that I have the most beautiful voice, (in reality, I'll probably sing tone-deafly) but I really like singing. Not all songs can be sung by me. There are several I can sing nicely because the key matches mine, but there are plenty other songs I can't even begin to try.

There are Unmistakable by Backstreet Boys, of which lyrics I really love. I never try to sing that one before in Karaoke, because it's still a new song without a video clip. So really really lucky if you can find the Karaoke version of this song anywhere.

What's the lyrics like?

It's about, of course, soul mates and what we do once we find them.

Anytime ... anywhere ... anyplace ...

You could be anyone today.
Maybe I would recognize you on a crowded street.

In this post, I will show you several random pictures I've taken anytime, anywhere, and anyplace. They are pretty insignificant, but mean something to me.

And, once I'm done with the randoms, I want to post last night's Karaoke (again) because it's such a good time, and this ...

... is the most expensive picture ever!

What is up, Today

Um...

Really, Nothing is up today. I don't have anything much to do ...
except to ...

1. Read Naruto until Chapter 402. Finally it's over with! I've been reading it for the last week from chapter 285. It's a loooong journey. Great one too, you know... if you leave out Asuma and Jiraiya's deaths...

2. Update my el_se7en blog. The bio section is eventually written and published. It's incomplete, though. But I'm quite happy about that.

3. Not go to gym. Ouch.. What has gotten to me lately? I'm being so lazy to exercise. I think I should discipline myself more.

4. Finished Gossip Girl til the last episode. Like what I've been telling people, the episode 18 (finale) isn't as good as the 17. It's less shocking, less interesting, less problems, no good and no intense cliffhanger whatsoever. So much for the finale. But the previous episodes were really damn great!

5. Want to buy the Chickenized Fried Rice I've been placing my eyes on for the last couple of days. I think I'm going to buy that now and finally have my dinner. Ooh.. I'm so starving. Gotta go! :P

The World Must Be Crazy

Because Bush has lost his wisdom (and apparently his mind, too) ...

hover your mouse to see additional comments

and Yao Ming is about to die from the tingling sensation ...

and all the pretty girls are either married or gay ...

and my comfortable bed has changed dramatically ...

and my comfortable bed has
changed dramatically ...

and all babies turn granpas ...

and all granpas turn to babes ...

and while the adults play childishly ...

and all the cool dudes look like this ...

and all the doctors turn pervy ...

or turn looney ...

and all the cute children turn cyclops ...

or become melty ...

or when everybody's letting their deepest nature out ...

or they cannot control their own bodies ...

or being too much proud of their own bodies ...

or someone else's ...

But nothing says "THIS IS THE END" more than denaturalization ...

like when polar bears romance for the last time since there is no ice left on earth...

or like when cats have no more reason to live ...

or finally found one ... a high maintenance one ...

and stressed out dogs have to work hard to "earn money" ...

or like when some preys have new ways to survive ...

and somehow, all the humans are living in the realm of video games ...

Like I said, the world must be crazy*!

And all the best women are married
All the handsome men are gay
You feel deprived ..."

Doraemon - The Manga That Never Ends

Doraemon is one of my all time favourite japanese manga of all time. Always has been, ever since I was in Elementary School watching him every Sunday morning. Now, years and years later, this story of a robotic cat from the 22nd century never ends.

Really!

Doraemon has no ending!

The series author, the Fujiko Fujio duo never discussed the official ending for Doraemon, and then the author's death in 1996 had left Doraemon with no ending.

Of course, there are a few versions of Doraemon's finale episode, but they are all fan fictions. The best one of all (also the most touching one) is the one written by Nobuo Sato and the manga version by Tajima T Yasue in 2005. I read the story years ago thru a chainmail in my email inbox. It's quite popular, too.

Below is the final manga of Doraemon according to Sato/Yasue. It's been translated to Bahasa Indonesia, though. You can read the english and japanese version here. Prepare to cry.

(this manga is read from left to right -->)

Few years later . . .

Many Years Have Passed . . .

Apparently, this manga was sold over 13,000 copies before Shogakukan halted its publication. Tajima apologized to Shogakukan in 2007 and paid an undisclosed amount of money for settlement.

The other ending is less optimistic one, for it suggested that Nobita suffer from autism and all of the stories, Doraemon, the adventures, all of that, wasn't real and only existed in Nobita's realm of unconsciousness. This ending was so bad that there were japanese people protesting outside the Headquarters of the publishers of the series before they found out that the ending wasn't true.

Below are several scans for this hateful ending.

The third ending suggests that Nobita fell and hit his head on a rock. He fell into a deep coma, and eventually into a semi-vegetative state. To raise money for an operation to save Nobita, Doraemon sold all the tools and devices in his four-dimensional pocket. However, the operation failed. Doraemon sold all his tools except for one used as a last resort. He used it to enable Nobita to go wherever he wanted, whichever time era he wished to go. In the end, the very place Nobita wanted to go was heaven.

But ending or no ending, Doraemon will always stay in our hearts, because this adorable cat who recently has become Japan's first Anime Ambassador, has stolen a place in our hearts that will never ever be tarnished.
